Really plastering? Like over lath? Or are you talking about patching wallboard with spackle?

(I've never tried real plastering...how'd it turn out??)

Apparently spackle.

Not that exciting. I just have a nasty-looking wall in terrible condition that I need to restore to a paintable state. You know, before the cabinets come in.

Ah, yes. I've done a fair amount of that. :-) I suspect it's more gratifying than plastering.

(When it works, it's -really- satisfying! We had a bogus FiSH violation at Phi Tau one time, because of an electrical box in the SLR (Rm #10??) which was missing a cover; since it was from before the 1950's(?) rewire of the house and was not hooked up to anything, I just used some spackle and made the whole thing "disappear"! Very satisfying....)

As the guy who built our house put it, don't worry about dinged and dented walls -- walls come in a bucket, just reapply as necessary. :-)

(The trick is to be patient: don't apply too much compound at a time, and let it dry between applications and before painting...although, your stuff apparently tells you when it's dry, which is sort of kewl. :-)

Oh, I am all about the pink. It is pretty awesome. Apparently they make ceiling paint like that too.

And yeah, it's very satisfying, in the same way that painting is satisfying. You're taking something that was a mess, and with relatively little effort, you're making it perfect again.

In less than a week, my kitchen, which is currently a disaster zone, is going to be perfect and new. That said, it's going to be a busy week.
